It was a win-win situation for the United States Federal Government, which collected 258 million dollars in alcohol taxes after the repeal. Beer for the people!

Hap & Harry’s Tennessee Beers is a tribute to Hap Motlow, of the legendary Jack Daniel family, and Harry Lipman, a patriarch of the Middle Tennessee wholesale company that still distributes Jack Daniel’s products.

Craft beer lovers had the first opportunity to taste Hap & Harry’s on tap when it was first released at “Taste of Music City” in Nashville. Robert Lipman and his daughter, Margaret, were among the first to raise a glass.

Hap & Harry’s Tennessee Beers, along with Yazoo Brews, were the first locally brewed craft beers available at Bridgestone Arena. The Music City Taps bar, located near Section 119, is legendary for serving up fresh cold beer to the hundreds of thousands event go-ers every year.

Hap & Harry’s was originally bottled at Yazoo Brewery in Nashville under terms of a contract agreement. As the craft beer business began to boom, Hap & Harry’s needed more space to brew  

Previously only available in kegs and bottles in three major regions of Tennessee (Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville), Hap & Harry’s debut 12oz cans of Tennessee Lager and Tennessee Ale.

As the Hap & Harry’s brand grew, the space and equipment required for brewing grew too. Hap & Harry’s moved operations to a new facility comprising of 27,000 square feet in The Nations.

The Hap & Harry’s team grew by one with the purchase of a 1949 Chevy 3600. Similar to the care and effort that is put into beer making, Pops quickly evolved from a summertime project to part of the Hap & Harry’s family. 

A special collaboration between two Nashville originals: Grammy award-winning artists Kings of Leon and Hap & Harry’s Tennessee Beer. The two partnered to produce a limited-edition release called Revelry, an Amber Ale.
